POWER OF SLEEP: Enlighten Your Path

DID YOU KNOW?

On average, humans spend about one-third of their lives sleeping. By age 30, we've spent around 10 years asleep. Sleep is crucial for brain function and memory consolidation, acting as a reset button for our minds. Without it, facing the challenges of each day would be much more difficult.

A SLEEP CYCLE

This is a recurring series of events that occurs while a person is asleep. Each cycle (4-6 cycles per night) comprises four stages, each cycle lasting approximately 90 to 120 minutes on average. Understanding these stages informs better decisions about our sleep schedules.

Stage 1( 5%): Light sleep Transition from wakefulness. The brain slows and muscles relax.

Stage 2 (45%): brainwave slowing. Sleep spindles and K-complexes emerge, aiding memory consolidation and learning.

Stage 3 (25%): Deepest sleep. Promotes physical recovery, hormone regulation, and immune function.

Stage 4: Rapid Eye Movement(25%): Dream's center, brain active, and body paralyzed. Boosts cognitive function, emotional regulation, and brain development
