POWER OF SLEEP: Enlighten Your Path DID YOU KNOW? On average, humans spend about one-third of their lives sleeping. By age 30, we've spent around 10 years asleep. Sleep is crucial for brain function and memory consolidation, acting as a reset button for our minds. Without it, facing the challenges of each day would be much more difficult. A SLEEP CYCLE This is a recurring series of events that occurs while a person is asleep. Each cycle (4-6 cycles per night) comprises four stages, each cycle lasting approximately 90 to 120 minutes on average. Understanding these stages informs better decisions about our sleep schedules.  Stage 1( 5% ): Light sleep Transition from wakefulness. The brain slows and muscles relax.
